About

The Association was formed in 1924, & the first games on Saturday, 3rd October, 1924. One of the original clubs, Kororoit Stars, played that day & are still playing in 2025. They are now known as Altona North, the name change occuring in 1970.

The original name of the Association was the Williamstown & Footscray Metropolitan Cricket Association, the “Metropolitan” being omitted after the first season. It continued with that name until 1966 when clubs from the Altona area joined & the new name became Williamstown, Altona & Footscray District Cricket Association.in 1983 after further expansion into the Werribee area the name became Williamstown & Districts Cricket Association.

The various divisions the Association had in its history were:

  • Hard wicket (Matting & Synthetic). 1924-25 to 2018-19.
  • Turf. 1946-47 to 2015-16.
  • Junior (Under age).  1950-51, 1962-63 to 2008-09.
  • Sunday Turf,   2017-18 to present.
